Shirley and Dave Marcroft are pastors of New Life Church of the White Mountains which is a resort ministry. The ministry is located in the beautiful 4 season resort of Waterville Valley in New Hampshire.
Both Shirley and Dave are NH natives: Shirley is from Laconia and Dave is from Ashland. They met in college at the University of New Hampshire and were married after graduating. After living throughout the US while Dave served in the Air Force for 10 years, they returned to live in NH. They have 3 married daughters and 7 grandchildren.
Shirley and Dave previously had careers as software engineers in the computer industry. Then God called them to serve in ministry. Shirley is an ordained pastor with the American Baptist Churches – USA and has served as pastor at churches in central and northern NH. She studied for the ministry at Bethel Seminary. Dave is a licensed pastor.
In 2001 Shirley and Dave founded New Life Church of the White Mountains as a new church for the American Baptist Churches. Shirley serves part-time as pastor of New Life and works part-time at several jobs: Emergency Medical Responder, store clerk, and admin. Dave serves the church part-time and works full-time as a nurse at Hillside Medical Center (part of Lakes Region General Hospital) in Gilford, NH.
Shirley serves as Chaplain for the New Hampshire State Police, the Waterville Valley Department of Public Safety, the Campton-Thornton Fire Dept, and the Ashland Fire Dept. She is a member of the Granite State Critical Incident Stress Management Team (CISM) and the NH Disaster Behavioral Health Response Team (DBHRT).
