Our Ministry

The summer ministry at Waterville Valley, NH has been great.  The wonderful weather has brought many people to the resort.  Church services are held at 10 am on Sundays at The Meeting Place room in Town Square.

Our ministry in WV serves guests, employees, and property owners ~ during the summer, fall, and winter.

Summer: During the summer, there’s so much activity in the village: concerts, sports events, Curious George Festival, and more. People come to the resort from all over the world.  It’s wonderful to experience our church services with Christians from all the streams of Christianity.

Winter: During the winter, the resort activity is both at the ski area and in the village.  We hold worship services in the Meeting Place Room in Town Square at 10 am on Sundays. Additionally, we hold a slope side ski service at the ski area at 11:30 am.  This is held on the deck of Sunnyside Lodge which is on the mountain and only accessible via chairlift or snowmobile.

Weddings: Shirley is happy to officiate at weddings both in Waterville Valley and in central NH.  Send her an email or call:  shirley@nlcnh.org  / 603.968.7251

Easter Sunrise Service: Each Easter, Shirley and Dave host the very popular Sunrise Service at the WV Ski Area mountain top. What an incredible experience to celebrate the Risen Christ while gazing at the vast panorama of mountain peaks, and to seeing the sunrise.  Each year, people gasp at the sheer beauty of the sunrise. Come join us and around 200 other people next Easter morning. The resort provides free chair lift rides up and down on the White Peak Quad Lift ~ or you can ski.

Thrift Shop: A significant part of our ministry is helping others. One way we do this is through our ‘thrift shop ministry’.  Although we don’t have a building to house our thrift shop anymore, we have found other ways to continue this ministry.  We have a collection box in Waterville Valley next to the Recreation Center on Noon Peak Road.  We give items free to those who need them. The remainder we sell at the Encore Thrift Shop in Lincoln, which is run by our good friends Skip and Joyce Schwarz and their ministry: Loon Area Christian Ministry.  We receive a % of the sales after the shop’s expenses are deducted.  The money is used to support our ministry and to provide financial help to those who need it.

State Police and Fire/EMS Chaplain: A large part of Shirley’s ministry is serving as the only chaplain for the NH Sate Police ~ and as chaplain for the Ashland FD, Campton/Thornton FD, and WV Public Safety.  These first responders work so hard to keep us safe, rescue us, respond to our health emergencies, and fight fires.  She loves working with them and hanging out with them.

This past winter and spring, Shirley took a class to become an Emergency Medical Responder. That’s the very first level of the EMT services.  She serves with the Ashland NH Fire Dept ambulance crew.
